Waterproofing is a crucial step in the construction process that can cause costly or impossible-to-fix damage if not done correctly. Choosing the right adhesive(s) for waterproofing is a vital decision. It’s important to consider not only the quality of the product, but cost and versatility as well.
We’ve developed GluDown® Sticky Strips as a new solution to deliver reliability, savings and efficiency in these kinds of challenging applications where cutting corners simply isn’t an option. Sticky Strips are not just another adhesive tape. They offer a unique adhesive system that’s compatible with waterproofing membranes, won’t cause damage to barrier materials, and offers ideal temperature and chemical resistance.
Sticky Strips are a double-sided adhesive foam packaged on a 36-ft. roll with a choice of 1.75” or 2.75” widths. Each roll yields 106 strips, conveniently pre-cut into easy-to-use sizes. One strip can support approximately 2 sq. ft. of material, making them efficient and quick.
Their instant, aggressive tack makes them the perfect adhesive option for bonding membranes (roll-on, spray-on, peel and stick), foam board and drainage board to a wide range of materials, including:
- Foam board
- Dimple Board
An example of just one application for Sticky Strips is for temporary termination bars to hold drain board in place when the temporary bar is removed and before the permanent bar is installed for waterproofing, drainage and flashing.
Sticky Strips are very easy to use. After removing any debris and preparing the surface, simply attach Sticky Strips across the top of the surface approximately six inches apart. It’s best to pull the back liner off at a downward angle. Continue to apply additional rows at 3-4 foot intervals with spacing of about 18 inches. Then apply your materials with firm, even pressure to the structure and repeat.
